De Casteleer is located in the green town of Kasterlee: a stylish event location that combines warmth, hospitality and attention to detail. We spoke with Bieke, co-owner, about the evolution of their business and how Catermonkey helps them ensure that every event runs smoothly.
From B&B to party venue
De Casteleer started modestly as a bed and breakfast with a small dining room. “We soon realised that we could expand, and ultimately change direction,” says Bieke. “I was the chef myself in the beginning, so I retrained specifically for that role. We now have a permanent chef, and I focus on other aspects of the business.”
Today, De Casteleer has grown into a versatile venue for parties, dinners and business meetings. With a spacious function room, attractive terrace and ample parking, the team offers a total experience – with attention to even the smallest details.
A pitch that stuck
We were introduced to Catermonkey by someone we knew in the industry. “We already knew Maty (co-founder of Catermonkey) from the catering world,” says Bieke. “He once gave a pitch about his idea, which was still in its early stages at the time. During the coronavirus pandemic, we finally had a bit more time to really look into it.”
A nudge from fellow caterer Martje van Fingerfoodtruck tipped the scales. “We took the plunge and quickly discovered that Catermonkey really does offer many advantages.”
Fewer evenings filled with quotations
Since then, Catermonkey has become an indispensable part of their business. “Bruun used to come home late at night and we would sit together preparing seven quotes,” Bieke recalls. “Those kinds of evenings are over now.”
The benefits are tangible. “We use the software for quotations, follow-up, price calculation and the request widgets on the website. It’s difficult to measure exactly, but I think Catermonkey saves us at least two full-time employees every week.”
