Catermonkey is more than software. Behind the scenes is a close, driven team working with enthusiasm on something bigger: giving hospitality business owners more calm and clarity. We come from varied backgrounds in software, support, graphic design, marketing and hospitality. All with a passion for the hospitality and events trade.
Every day we translate the challenges of caterers, delis and party venues into practical solutions. Not based on theory, but on conversations we've been having for years with the people who do the work. That input makes our software and AI tools personal and recognisable.
In 2012, Marten Sytema started building software for caterers in The Hague. A sandwich and catering business in Kasterlee started using it, and kept doing so for six years.
Daily use in a real business turned out to be the fastest way to find out what was needed. After that, Marten and the owner of that business, Maty Van Geirt, joined forces: Dutch engineering, Belgian practice. That became Catermonkey.
You can still see that the software grew out of a real kitchen. The words in the programme are the kitchen's words: preparation list, order, quote. Not the words of a software company.
And it's the reason we still work this way. Whatever gets added comes out of a conversation with someone who does the work.
