Geocoding & maps
From a typed address to coordinates ready for your routes
You type a street name; Catermonkey looks up the coordinates. Delivery routes, travel time estimates in the calendar and access notes for locations all start here.
In short
- Translates addresses into coordinates via Google Maps
- Coordinates are used for route optimisation and travel time estimates in the calendar
- A geocoded location applies to every order at that location
- Change the address once; every linked part updates automatically
From address to map point
When you add a customer address or event venue, Catermonkey processes it through Google Maps. The coordinates feed two parts of the app: route optimisation for your drivers and travel time estimates in the calendar view for your sales staff.
You just type the address
You don't have to keep track of latitude and longitude. You type the location name and address once; the system geocodes it and stores the result. If a customer moves or you correct a typo, one change updates every future order at that location.
What it's used for
Geocoding is the basis for the travel time shown in the calendar and the order of stops in the route planner. Without accurate coordinates, neither feature works reliably any more.
