Catermonkey, the revolutionary web app for caterers, proudly announces the worldwide launch of a system that traces its origins to the visionary work of CTO Marten Sytema. The story starts in 2012, just two years after I graduated as a Software Engineer from the University of Twente, when I was approached by a caterer from Breda looking for automation for his business.
As a freelance programmer, I took on the challenge and started this project. Word soon reached Maty Van Geirt, who was looking for something similar at the time. That's how CateringSoftware was born, initially as a modest side project with a handful of connected caterers.
In 2018, Maty raised the idea of selling CateringSoftware in Belgium, given its success and the market's need for such a solution. We decided to join forces, but not before giving CateringSoftware a complete makeover.
Although the concept and the foundation were solid, we knew there was a lot of room for improvement in usability, marketing and branding. Catermonkey launched in 2019, and after a flying start followed by a challenging period during the Covid-19 pandemic, during which we kept developing constantly, the system now stands, 4.5 years later, as a powerful player winning over the Benelux and ready for the rest of the world.
Catermonkey is more than just a software app; it's the result of an ongoing commitment to innovation, collaboration and overcoming challenges. Over the past few years, we've developed Catermonkey into a system that doesn't just transform the catering industry, but also sets the standard for ease of use, marketing and branding.
